It replaces formally used<em> Electro-Nystagmography (ENG), <\/em>which used electrical recording of retina potentials. \u00a0These systems\u00a0 are used to record involuntary and voluntary eye movements, which provides useful insights for the diagnosis of balance disorders, neurological disorders, psychiatry,\u00a0 and just started to use\u00a0 in the field of ophthalmology, for ocular motility disorders in particular.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The main advantage of <strong>FineGaze<\/strong> is <strong>NO CALIBRATION<\/strong> and <strong>SIMPLICITY<\/strong> of the test.\u00a0 FineGaze is a\u00a0 <strong>painless, noninvasive and absolutely a risk-free assessment VOG and VNG <\/strong>system. \u00a0FinGaze offers a<strong> very light weight<\/strong> <strong>portable hardware, express test\u00a0 and <\/strong>\u00a0<strong>analysis<\/strong> of ocular\u00a0 and head movements, vestibular function evaluation. It can be also used for\u00a0 s <strong>ocular motor training<\/strong> with different customized software designed for specific purposes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Small\u00a0 video cameras mounted on\u00a0 \u00a0disposable\u00a0 frame allow\u00a0 to observe and record horizontal, vertical and torsional eye movements along with head movements in light and in darkness, due to infrared (IR) illumination.<\/p>\n<pre><strong>Note:<\/strong> Classical VNG devices are not suitable for a number of applications. They are\u00a0 not fully portable\u00a0 and need qualified personnel to operate. Most devices require\u00a0 complicated and time consuming calibration procedures, which, in most cases,\u00a0 are not\u00a0 appropriate for\u00a0 patient's condition. For example, calibration always requires excellent\u00a0 positional fixations, which may not be possible to perform for patients affected by specific disorders such as ocular motility disorders and brain traumas. On the contrary, FingeGaze is a calibration-free device.
